James “Jim” E. Cogar

James “Jim” E. Cogar, 85 of Salina, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021.  He was born June 19, 1935, in Evergreen, W. VA.

 

James retired from the US Army after serving 20 years. Following his retirement, Jim worked for Sears as a Service Technician, then as a truck driver for USD 305 for 4 years in the food service industry.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; Roy and Clara Cogar, son, Danny Nipper,

brothers, Robert Cogar, and Vonzel Cogar, sisters, Mable Brake, Geneva Wright, and a son-in-law, Rusty Brunner.

 

Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Roberta M. Cogar, their blended family, James (Vanessa) Glacken, Jr., Robert Cogar, Virginia (Gary) Glacken, Mary (John) Glacken, all of Junction City, Janie Brunner of W. VA., Lucinda Cogar, and Tressa (Tim) Heyde, both of Salina, Janice (Darin) Vance of Minneapolis, and Kathy (Shane) Massell of Wichita; and 16 grandchildren.

 

In support of Jim and his family, they are requesting that anyone attending the services to please wear a Kansas City Chiefs or your military shirt.

 

Visitation will be Monday, June 14, 2021 at 10:00am, one hour prior to the start of the 11:00am funeral service at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 East Crawford, Salina.
