Gladys Marie Macomber, 85, formerly of Fall River, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023. Born in Gypsum, Kansas, a daughter of the late Solomon Frank Holcom and the late Nellie Wilma (Hales) Holcom, she moved to Fall River in 2004, having also resided in Florida for a time.

A retail salesclerk for a number of years, in Salina at School Specialty Supply and at a Best Buy in Florida, Gladys had also owned a janitorial business in Salina providing housekeeping services for doctors and Asbury Hospital.

An avid reader, Gladys also enjoyed cooking, canning, quilting, and gardening.

She is survived by her four children, Deborah Viveiros of Fall River, Tonya McConnell of Topeka, Kansas, Russell E. Macomber and husband Kevin Haertling of Orlando, Florida, and Victoria Lynn Macomber of Sanford, Florida; a sister, Jean Stanton of Wichita, Kansas; six grandchildren, Renee, Shawn, Christian, Niko, Anthony, and Michael; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Gladys was also a sister of the late Hannah Grill, Teddie Holcom, and Mildred Tharp.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Ryan Mortuary.  Inurnment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery, Salina.
