Georgia Lea Kincaid

Georgia Lea Kincaid, 80, of Assaria, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 4th, 2024.

Georgia was born in Wichita, Kansas on September 22, 1943, a daughter of Dorothy (Johnson) and Howard Otis Larson.

She was a library aide at Southeast of Saline and was always willing to help anyone who needed assistance.

Leading a life of selfless service for God and community, she had a calling to bring people to Jesus. Not only did she feel called to bring the community to Christ, she felt it was very important for her family to have a relationship with God.

Georgia taught Sunday School and lead CYC (Christian Youth Crusaders), played the piano and organ, hospitality committees, cleaning, women’s mission group, and making sure everyone was fed. She started the library at the Cornerstone Community Church.

Continuing her service to the community, she also volunteered at the Salina Rescue Mission to make sure needs were met.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Samuel “Sam” Kincaid; three daughters, Michelle Labes (Bruce), of Delphos, Kansas, Susan Lawson (Chad), of Salina, Kansas; Sandra “Sandy” Terpening (Jon), of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren, William Labes (Sarah), Ann Metcalfe (Dan), Jenny Combs (Jacob), Ellie Labes (Joe Cruz), Chelsey Kincaid, Megan Kincaid-Heidel, Kourtney Kincaid (Christian Muehlberg), Madison Lawson, Brianna Terpening, Tia Terpening; 7 great grandchildren; and many friends that were also family.

Georgia is also survived by a sister, Melissa “Missy” Schwartz (Matt), of Moundridge, Kansas; three brothers, Paul “Eddie” Larson (Grace), of Haysville, Kansas, David “Tiny” Larson, of McPherson, Kansas, and Michael “Mike” Larson (Diana), of Winchester, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mom, Ruth Larson; granddaughter, Camille Lea Terpening; great grandchildren, Cooper, Jackson, Clark, and Peyton.

She was the light and music in our lives.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, January 11th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 12th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home with Pastor David Morris officiating.

Donations may be made to Cornerstone Community Church, in care of the funeral home.
