Frances L. Weaverling, age 89, passed away on Sat., Dec. 12, 2020 at the Jewell County Hospital, Mankato, KS. She was born on Aug. 14, 1931 in Mankato, KS to Casper & Irbie (Abram) Hanson.

She graduated from Mankato High School in 1949. She married Rex Weaverling on Sept 6 1952 in Mankato. Rex and Frances were married nearly 62 years until he preceded her on Aug. 28, 2014. Theirs was a loving and special relationship that we all admired. We remember lots of hand holding, stolen kisses and loving moments.

Frances worked as a receptionist, a cook at the Elementary school and later a book keeper at First National Bank until her retirement. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, WELCA and Jr. Clio Club all of Mankato.

Those who will celebrate her life everyday are the many members of her family, daughter, Sue and Philip Walton, Emily, Brandon, and Brady, Olivia & Dylan Barkley, Brett, Ali & Wren Ernst, Donovan, Monica, Alli and Emma Walton, David, Jermiah, Ysabel and Kloe Walton; son, Jeff and Cindy Weaverling, Daniel, Anne, Gabrielle & Grayson Weaverling and Levi Weaverling and daughter, DiAnn Weaverling, Sydney and Ian Roberts and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex; her parents & siblings, Donald Hanson, Joyce Simmons, Freda Seals, Ronald Hanson & Larry Hanson.

It was Frances’ wishes to be cremated and the family will have a memorial graveside service on 1:00 pm, Tues., Dec. 22, 2020 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mankato, KS with Pastor Dennis Beckmann officiating. Friends may sign the register book from 12-6 pm , Monday December 21, 2020 at Melby Mortuary, Mankato.
