Frances Deloros Falen

Frances Deloros Falen, age 91, of Salina, Kansas passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Salina. She was born April 17, 1928 at Dillon, Kansas the daughter of Alden and Catherine (Ettridge) Falen.

Frances was a graduate of Hope High School and earned a BS in Home Economics, BS in Education, MS in Education, and PhD from Kansas State University. She began her teaching career in Clay Center and Topeka, Kansas, followed by Eastern Illinois University, Dakota Wesleyan University, and Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

In 1993 she retired and moved to Salina, Kansas. She was a member of the First Christian Church and active in Volunteering at St. John’s Hospital, “Art Smart” in schools, and various other charitable organizations.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Harry and Harvey Falen. She is survived by her nephews, Dan (Marcia) Falen of Hope and Bill (Peggy) Falen of Lost Springs; nieces Jean (Von) Ervin of Laquey, Missouri, Sara Platz of Trumbull, Connecticut, and Ann (Grant) Rehder of the Villages, Florida; 7 great nephews and nieces, 12 great great nephews and nieces, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Frances will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the Carlson-Becker Funeral Home in Hope. Her final resting place will be in the Pilgrim Home Cemetery near Hope. Friends may sign the register book after 9:00 AM Wednesday morning. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be mailed to the Carlson-Becker Funeral Home, P.O.
