Eric Lee Barnett, 47, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 15th, surround by his loving family.
Eric was born in Lawrence, Kansas on May 25, 1970, a son of Sue (Istas) Weiland, of Minneapolis, Kansas and Steve Barnett, of Salina, Kansas
He was the owner/operator of EB Electric, Rubbing Butts BBQ, and Liquor Hut. He also worked for B & W Electric for 17 years. He was currently employed at Johnson Controls.
Eric attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Salina, was a member of the Construction Association, Home Builders Association and the Kansas City BBQ Society where he competed in many BBQ contests. He loved to race Motorcross, and was his daughters #1 fan at all of her softball games and practices.
On May 11, 2002, Eric married Jennifer Wolf at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Salina.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer and daughter, Brookelyn Barnett, of the home; parents, Sue Weiland, of Minneapolis, Kansas and Steve Barnett and wife Sharon, of Salina, Kansas; grandmother, Bernice Hamele, of Salina; brother, Justin Barnett, of Manhattan, Kansas; half-sister, Katie Barnett, of Salina, Kansas; step sisters, Kiley Barnett, of Salina, Kansas, Meredith Gleason and husband Nick of Salina, Kansas; step brother, Jeremy Weiland, of Ellsworth, Kansas; father and mother in law, Dennis and Helen Wolf, of Salina, Kansas. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by step-father, Bill Weiland.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 22nd from 9:00 am – 8:00 pm at Carlson – Geisendorf Funeral Home with family present from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
The Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, February 23rd, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Salina, Kansas, with Rev. Ed Foster officiating.
Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery Salina, Kansas.
