Doris M. Perry, 88, Salina, KS, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. Doris was born to John & Anna Katherine Riedel on April 7, 1938, in St. Peter, KS.

Doris later met her late husband, Richard Perry. They got married on April 30, 1966, and were married for 60 years. They had a farm in Tescott, KS, where they raised crops and a few Holsteins but mostly resided in Salina, KS. Doris and Richard raised one son, John Perry. They owned Perry Liquor in Salina, KS, and both were members of the Salina Country Club. Doris was involved in the Salina Auxiliary for SRHC and was also a very active member of her PEO group. In the summers, she would take her grandkids to the country club to swim. Occasionally, you would find her making visits to the wheat field to see how the boys were getting along and take them some food. Doris loved going to church and seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her son, John Perry (Teresa) , Tescott, sisters Jeannie Gross, Hays, Vera Hartman (Grainfield) and Mary Lynn Ryan (Francis), Salina, brother Vernie Riedel, St. Peter, KS. Her grandchildren are Shea Walden (Tyler), Bennington, Cole Perry (Shelby), Tescott, Zach Perry (Danni), Sylvan, Katie Goddard (Kayden), Brookville, Johnna Perry (Kamreyn Bonini), Curtis, NE. Doris has 6 great-grandchildren: Eli, Kolter, Kyler, Matthew, Kaysen, Maverick, and Saydee. Along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She’s preceded in death by her husband, Richard Perry; parents, John & Anna Katherine Rome-Riedel. Sisters; sisters; Viola, Clara, Leona, Isabelle, Aurelia; & brothers; Ed, Johnny, Joe, & Bob.

The visitation will be at Ryan’s Mortuary on August 20, 2026, with family present from 4 to 7:30 p.m. and a rosary to follow. The funeral will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Salina, KS, at 10 a.m. followed by a luncheon. Graveside services will be held at the Culver Union Cemetery after the luncheon.
