Doris Eileen Parsons

Doris Eileen Parsons, 85, of Inman, Kansas passed away at 2:15 a.m., Friday, September 13th, 2019 peacefully, at Pleasant View Home.

Doris was born in rural Alta Vista, Kansas on May 20, 1934, a daughter of Lawrence Lee and Leah Dorothea (Syring) Bradley.

Doris attended the Alta Vista schools and graduated from Alta Vista High School, Alta Vista, Kansas in 1952. She then attended Ottawa University, Ottawa, Kansas.

Doris was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She also worked as a secretary for School District 399, Paradise, Kansas, was City Clerk for the City of Natoma, Kansas. She did a variety of clerical jobs and enjoyed baby-sitting her two grandsons.

Doris enjoyed playing the piano, going to church, and spending time with her family.

Doris Eileen Bradley was united in marriage to Billy Lee Parsons on December 5, 1953 at Topeka, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Topeka. This union was blessed with the birth of five children, two sons and three daughters, Tony, Beverly, Jay, Lori and Meredith

She is survived by her husband Billy Parsons, of Inman, Kansas; her children, Tony Parsons, of Victoria, Kansas, Beverly Parsons, of Inman, Kansas, Jay Parsons and his Fiancée Sharena, of Inman, Kansas, Lori Parsons, of Kansas City, Missouri, Meredith Roblez and her husband JR, of Overland Park, Kansas; her sister Ardyce Schrader, of Alma, Kansas. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Anthony Parsons and Camien Parsons.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William Bradley.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Glidden – Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 19th, 2019 with Pastor Paul Long officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Alta Vista Cemetery Alta Vista, KS.
