Deborah Louise Cheswick

Deborah Louise Cheswick, of Salina, Kansas passed away unexpectedly on February 3rd, 2024.

Deborah was born on September 2nd, 1951 in Salina, Kansas to Richard and Deane Webb, deceased, and her loving siblings followed her in birth, Dennis Webb, of Wichita, Kansas, and Rebecca Mettlen, of Salina, Kansas  Deborah graduated from Lindsborg High School, and Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas with a degree in education.  Deborah lived in Salina, and Topeka, Kansas where she raised her children, and worked as an elementary school teacher.

Deborah was preceded in death by her husband Donald Cheswick, of Salina Kansas.  Deborah is survived by her three daughters Sonia J. Krafels, and husband Jeffrey Krafels, of Manassas, Virginia, and granddaughters Hannah, Addison, and Sadie Krafels.  Daughter, Susan R. Trafton, of Windsor, Colorado, and grandsons Slade Negus and Andrew Bruhl.  Daughter, Maegan D. Joy, and husband Shawn Joy of Texhoma, Oklahoma, grandchildren Charlotte, and Cal Joy.

Deborah focused her life on raising her children and enjoying time with her seven grandchildren.  She was a passionate Democrat, avid reader, skilled quilter, longtime Kansas Jayhawk  fan, and had a remarkable green thumb.  She loved cheering on the Kansas Jayhawk basketball team.   The Golden Rule guided her life, as well as her personal and political philosophies.  Her legacy of unconditional kindness and love for her daughters and grandchildren will be forever treasured and remembered.

A celebration of her life reception will be held at Great Plains Hall inside Tony’s Pizza Events Center on Saturday, February 10th, 2024 in Salina, Ks from 2 pm – 4 pm.  Please join us for refreshments during this time.
