Clifton S. Dodge, Sr., 69, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018. He was
born July 29, 1949 in Salina, KS to Allen and Barbara (Simpson) Dodge.
He graduated Salina High School in 1969. Clif was in the restaurant
business most of his working career. He owned and operated the Sands
Restaurant and Clif’s Place in Salina. The motto in his restaurants
was “There are no strangers here . . only friends we haven’t met!”
Survivors include his wife, Cathy; sons, Clif Jr, of Salina, Chris
(Jessica), of Topeka, Charles (Kristy), of Nesbit, MS; stepsons, Mark
(Stephanie) Scheck, of Wichita, Matt (Katy) Scheck, of Tacoma, WA;
sister, Susan Csikos, of Denver, CO; stepsister, Gwyn Mellinger
Auchard, of Rockingham, VA; stepbrother, Dick Mellinger, of North
Kansas City, MO; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Judy Platts and
Joanne Robinson.
Services will be at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Church with inurrnment at
Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina, KS.
