Carolyn Jean Heald

Carolyn Jean Heald, 87, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Sunday, September 25th, 2022.

Carolyn was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 4, 1934, a daughter of Doris Jean (Dobson) and John Roe Fenton. Her family moved around many times as a child, but her home was in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

On February 14, 1954, Carolyn married Ray E. Heald in Salina, Kansas and to this union came three children, J. Michael, Ron, and Kathi. When their kids joined the Silver Sabres Drum and Bugle Corp, Ray and Carolyn were strong supporters and became very active within the Silver Sabres.

She was loved by many and enjoyed social events including quilting, playing cards, reading anything by James Patterson and her dogs, Carray, Hazie, and Sophie. Carolyn always had a smile on her face and welcomed anyone into her home.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathi Jones, of Wichita, Kansas; son, Ron Heald (Kathy), of Wichita, Kansas; 4 grandchildren, Aric DeLaney (Cassandra), Jamie DeLaney, Shaun Heald (Michelle), Nicholas Heald; 2 great grandchildren, Liliana DeLaney, Aiden DeLaney; numerous nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Heald; and son, J. Michael Heald; brothers, Bill and Bob Fenton.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 1st at First Christian Church in Salina, Kansas with Pastor Doug Amend officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery Salina, Kansas.
