Carl E. Riddle

Carl E. Riddle, age 89, of Oronogo, Missouri passed away after a brief illness on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Carl was born on November 27, 1936, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Eva Arizona and Floyd Riddle. He attended Webb City High School before proudly answering the call to serve his county by enlisting in the United States Navy and Navy Reserves. During his military service, Carl attained the rank of Petty Officer Third Class and took great pride in serving his nation.

Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Carl met and married Frances Werth in September 1958. Together, they raised five children in Salina, Kansas. He also had a dedicated career with Phillips Lighting Company, where he worked as a lineman for many years until his retirement.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Marnita) Riddle of Duluth, Georgia, Cathy (Don) Craig of Oronogo, Missouri, Mark Riddle of Seven Hill, Ohio, Theresa Riddle of Hays, Kansas, and Cindy (David) Turner of Salina, Kansas. Carl is also survived by six grandchildren, Chris and Jeff Boaz, Austin and Emily Riddle, Zach and Zeb Turner; and great- grandchildren, Saylor, Chaser and Knox Boaz.

His is preceded in death by his parents Eva Arizona Riddle-Gray and Verlin Gray, brother, Kennith Riddle, half-sister Eva Jean Robinson, and great granddaughter, Scarlett Riddle-Rowson.

Visitation will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Mason- Woodard Mortuary, 3701 E.7th Street, Joplin, Missouri, followed with a graveside service at 11:00am at the Carterville Missouri Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joplin Humane Society in care of the mortuary.

Carl’s dedication to his family, his country, and his work will be remembered always, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
