Bobbie D Hostetter

Bobbie Dee Davis was born on September 30,1963, in Herington, KS. She was the youngest of three daughters to Calvin and JoAnn Davis. Bobbie grew up in Hope and attended Hope Schools until she graduated in 1981. She married Jeff Hostetter on October 10, 1981, at the Hope United Methodist Church. She was blessed with three boys, Trent, Trevor, and Trace.

Growing up Bobbie was heavily involved in 4-H and shared her dad’s love of horses. During her time in 4H she took cooking and sewing. Horses and riding were a large part of her life. She made many friends along the way whether it be from trail rides to following her parents around to rodeos and saddle club events.

After high school Bobbie joined the workforce for a few years until she later attended Kansas Wesleyan to pursue a career in nursing. Nursing quickly became a passion for her as anybody who knew her knew she was always trying to help people in any way she could. Her career in nursing allowed her to touch many lives whether it be helping a co-worker or her patients and their families. Bobbie made many friends in her career that started in the nursery in the Salina Hospital and later took her to the Herington Hospital, Dickinson County Health Department, and finally the Geary County Hospital.

Outside of her work as a nurse, you could always find Bobbie supporting the Hope Lions in all sporting events. She would travel to every football game to support her husband, Jeff, for 28 years as he coached high school football and later to support her children in athletics. She was always willing to make team meals and pack all the players lunches for away games.

Bobbie retired from nursing in 2022, but her life only got busier as she quickly volunteered to babysit her grandchildren whenever she was needed. She became a grandma for the first time in June of 2015 to Brok Hostetter followed by Baker Hostetter, Graham Hostetter, and finally Knox Hostetter in 2025. It did not take long for Bobbie to become her grandchildren’s best friends as she was the first to take them on any adventure they wanted to no matter how big or small. From loading up the fishing poles and heading to the lake, to countless laps around the yard on the golf cart, she was the center of their world. Bobbie shared her hobbies with her grandchildren- teaching them about her love for flowers and gardening, in the kitchen baking cookies and of course, teaching them about horses.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and JoAnn Davis. She is survived by her husband, Jeff, her children; Trent Hostetter, Trevor (Laura) Hostetter, Trace (Maddy) Hostetter, her 4 grandchildren; Brok, Baker, Graham, and Knox Hostetter, and her sisters; Brenda (Mark) Meuli and Becky (Dave) Drury.
