Barbara Rott, 93, of Concordia, Kansas, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Marquis Place in Concordia.

She was born on May 22, 1932, in Concordia, Kansas, to Orin and Mildred (Snook) Heitsman.

On June 13, 1953, she was united in marriage to Maynard J. Rott at Brantford Covenant Church near Clyde, Kansas. To this union, one daughter, Kathy, was born.

Barbara devoted her life to her family as a farm wife. She enjoyed gardening, reading, completing word search puzzles, and collecting hummingbird and Santa Claus decorations. She especially valued time spent with her family. Barbara was a member of WFLA Lodge #19.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Byrd of Concordia, Kansas; and her grandson, Casey Pettinger of Lincoln, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard J. Rott; and her parents, Orin and Mildred Heitsman.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 8, 2026, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia, Kansas. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Vining, Kansas, with Pastor Michael Ostermann officiating.
