Bambi Diane Rowson

Bambi Diane Rowson, of Salina, passed away on March 22, 2023.

Bambi was born in Salina on March 21, 1963. Bambi graduated from Southeast of Saline in 1981. At Southeast, she played varsity volleyball, sang for 2 years in Madrigals, and played the French horn in the band. She was the slow-pitch pitcher for the Assaria team, sponsored by Nelson Appliances. Bambi attended North Park University in Chicago for 2 years, played volleyball, and enjoyed singing in the choir, she was the only freshman girl to make the choir. Bambi graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University in 1994, as a music major, singing in the choir.

The sport of volleyball was her favorite as a player, and later as a referee at the junior high and high school levels. She loved the music of the Grateful Dead. Her favorite Christian song was “Be Thou My Vision”.

Bambi was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy in 2008. She is survived by her father Garry, several uncles, aunts, cousins, classmates, and friends.

Bambi chose cremation, and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th in Salina, with inurnment following the service at Mission Hill Cemetery, in Smolan.
