Arthur Nicholas Bird Sr. died peacefully at Salina Regional Health Center with his family by his side on Wednesday, October9th, 2019 in Salina, Ks at the age of 72.

Art is survived by his loving wife Julia Bird; children, Lance Prince, Art (Anita) Bird of Brookville, Ks, Kenny (Nikole) Bird of Salina, Ks, and Amythyst Bird of California; siblings, Robbie (Rhonda) Bird of Culver, Ks, and Pat (Art) Garcia of Georgetown, Tx; grandchildren, Amber Bird, Ashlyn Bird, Alison Bird, Austin Bird, Spencer (Morgan) Bird, Colton Bird, Cory Bird, Sidney Bird; great grandchildren, Copen Swisher, Beau Bird, Jaxson May; stepchildren, Joshua Boyd, Jacob Clark, Jonah (Heather) Clark, Jeff Oehlert; grandchildren, Ryker Clark, Justin Clark, Jeremy Clark, Joseph Clark, Derek Oehlert, Jared Oehlert; great grandchildren, Jaylin Babers, Kaylea Babers, and Aariona Fant. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hollis and Rose Marie; grandparents, Nick & Theresia Kaiser, his 3rd wife Mary Ann; stepdaughter Sindee; and granddaughter Summer. He also is survived by his dog Spot.

Arthur Nicholas Bird was born on June 3rd, 1947, in Collyer, Ks to Hollis Bird and Rose Marie Kaiser. They moved shortly after he was born into his grandfather Arthur Bird’s farm south of Quinter. He was a semi-truck driver and for a few years worked for his father Hollis before starting a job with Pony Express. He has also worked for ASAP Land Express, AB Express, Express Corner, and most recent Capital Express.

Graveside services will be held Monday, October 21st, 2019 at 11:00am at Roselawn Memorial Park, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina. Luncheon will immediately after at VFW, Salina, Ks.
