Archie J. Fry

Archie J. Fry, 88, Salina, passed away on October 21st with loved ones by his side. He was born Feb. 3, 1932 to Archie and Alma(Fick) Fry. He was an electrician for Beech Aircraft and Smokey Hill Bomb Range, and drove trucks for Coke-Cola. He loved camping, traveling the country, fishing, hunting and playing Black Jack. Archie had a green thumb with a beautiful yard and big garden.

He was a proud veteran serving his country in the Navy in the Korean War where he received several medals of honor and certificates of accomplishment.

Archie was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; brother; Carl, sisters; Dorthy Battles and Alma Smith; brother in laws, Norm Reed, Jerry Battles, Jack Smith and stepson, Tom Brin.

He is survived by his wife, Geri; sons, Dennis and Greg of Salina; daughters, Darcy (Bill) Smith, Bennington, DeAnnda (Roland) Bird, Salina; and stepchildren, Jerry, Randy, and Mark Brin and Janelle Hull. He has 5 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren and his best buddy “Sport”.

Funeral services will be at the graveside, 11:00 am Friday October 30, 2020 in the Roselawn Cemetery, Salina, with military burial honors presented by Salina V.F.W. Post 1432. Friends may call to pay respects at the Ryan Mortuary on Thursday Oct. 29, from 4 until 8:.00 pm.
