Anita Kay Scott

ANITA KAY SCOTT , daughter of Carl E. Broils and Neoma (Naomi) Kibble-Broils was born on November 27, 1939 and transitioned on Sunday February 14, 2021 at the Papillion Manor (Papillion, Nebraska) surrounded by her family.

She was born in Council Grove, Kansas and lived in Russell, Kansas with her parents until they moved to Salina, Kansas in March of 1942. She attended Salina Public Schools and was a student at the Marymount College in Salina, Kansas. Affectionately known by and called Neda Kay, she loved music and to sing. She was wed on December 27, 1958 to Alexander E. Scott. They had no children.

Neda Kay was a life-long member of the Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Salina, Kansas. Her profound sense of love for God and the Church was clearly manifested in the way she committed her life in Christian service. She served tirelessly, in many Official capacities, until she was physically unable to. Over the years she assisted the Pastors, was the Church Secretary, Treasurer, Women’s Missionary Society President, and Choir Director. She represented Allen Chapel through a multitudes of Annual Conferences and varying other connectional ministries as the Delegate for Allen Chapel. While residing at the Papillion Manor she continued to attend Chapel Services and to share her love of singing.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and husband. She leaves to mourn her two sisters; Arlene Broils-Glenn (George) of Topeka, Kansas; Irma Broils-Martin (Johnnie) of Papillion, Nebraska; her Sister-in-law Ethel Scott of Spring Grove, VA.; Brother-in-law Carroll Scott of Spring Grove, VA; two nieces, four great nieces, two great-great nieces, four nephews, six great nephews; six great-great nephews; and a host of family and friends.

There will be a private service held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 with burial to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Council Grove, KS. Friends may call at the Ryan Mortuary from 4 until 8 pm Monday evening where the family will receive callers from 5 until 7 pm that evening.
