Alice M. Boschek

Alice M. Boschek, age 73, of Concordia, KS, left this earthly life on Monday, March 25, 2019 at the Northcare Hospice House, Kansas City, MO. She was born on Oct. 15, 1945 on a farm west of Ada, KS to Paul J. & Velma M. (Nelson) Studt.

She moved to the Chicago, IL area in 1955 where she graduated high school and Junior College. She attended Western Michigan University until she moved to Tubingen, Germany in 1966 when she married C. Bruce Boschek and then they moved to Daubringen, Germany in 1976. Alice and her 3 sons moved to Hattiesburg, MS in 1982 where Alice finished her degree at the Univ. of S. Mississippi. They returned to Kansas in 1985 and she taught special education for 23 years, 2 years in Clyde and 21 years at Concordia High School.

She finished her Parish Ministry Associate of ELCA training in 2007. After her retirement, she served part-time at Concordia Lutheran Church and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Glasco, KS, until Dec. 2018, which was the church where her father and mother were married and later held their funerals.

Alice loved traveling and visited every state but Hawaii. She traveled extensively throughout Europe, going back in the summertime to visit friends and family. She loved to travel with a special friend from Tuebingen, Ursula Fuchs and appreciated her generosity for over 50 years. Additionally, Alice appreciated traveling with her friend, Goetz Clement and they tried to plan 2 trips a year.

Alice was a lover of the arts and enjoyed reading, live theater, art films in Salina, cooking, dining with friends, Jazzercise, music and playing her German baritone. Alice was a member of the Community Band in Concordia; served on the Board of the Cloud County Historical Society Museum, Delta Kappa Gamma and Concordia Lutheran Church.

Alice is survived by her sons; Dr. Curt Boschek, Concordia; Dirk Boschek, Burien, WA & Erik Boschek, Zurich, Switzerland; grandson, Lars Boschek; nieces & nephews & a host of friends & parishioners from the churches she served.

She was preceded in death by her parents & brothers, Paul & Gary Studt.

It was Alice’s wishes to be cremated and Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Concordia, KS with Nancy Mitchell, PMA, Jim Winter, PMA & Pastor Bill Peterson officiating. Private disposition of the cremains will be at a later date. Friends may sign the register book on Monday, April 1, 2019 from 9 am to 5 pm at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. The family suggests memorials to the Concordia Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
