A man experiencing a mental health crisis is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Wichita.

Police and mental health responders were called to the 14-hundred-block of West Haskell yesterday afternoon on the report of a 27-year-old threatening suicide.

Officers approached the man, who was inside a vehicle in the driveway of a home, and a gunshot was fired.

A Wichita police officer them fired at the vehicle, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
