A Learjet 36-A is set to leave Wichita for a world record flight.
Organizers of the event say the plane will take off from Wichita on April 30th and head to the South Pole and then the North Pole before returning to Wichita.
The flight, which has been sanctioned by the National Aeronautics Association, is expected to last three days. The project will help raise funds for the restoration of Lear Jet 23-003, the first Lear Jet aircraft ever sold in Wichita in 1964.
