After more than four decades in law enforcement, Larned Police Chief Charles Orth is handing in his badge.

Chief Orth – who reportedly spent more than 30 years as chief – started as a full-time law officer in 1977.

When asked what he’d be doing after he retired, the chief said he looks forward to spending more time with his nine grandchildren and single great-grandchild.
