KU Faculty, Staff Plan to Unionize

Faculty and academic staff at the University of Kansas are planning to unionize.

The proposed United Academics of the University of Kansas union would represent more than 15-hundred faculty members on the Lawrence and Edwards campuses.

Union organizers will start collecting union authorization cards and then conduct a secret-ballot vote.

Supporters of the unionization effort say they hope to improve working conditions for staff and faculty as well as learning conditions for students.
