The death of an inmate at the El Dorado Correctional Facility is under investigation.

Thirty-eight-year-old Joshua Matthews was found unresponsive inside his cell on Friday night, and lifesaving measures were performed, but were unsuccessful.

Matthews was serving a 245-month sentence for three counts of battery of corrections employees out of Douglas County.
