A historic Kansas church is damaged in a fire.

Officials say that Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Fort Scott was struck by lightning on Monday night.

The 162-year-old church’s roof caught fire, and the building suffered heavy damage.

Church officials say that the building can be repaired.
