An escaped inmate from the Wichita Work Release Facility is back in custody.

Authorities say 42-year-old Royce Timmons was reported missing on Saturday night when he could not be found at the minimum-security unit.

Timmons was arrested yesterday morning after surrendering himself at the facility.

He was sentenced in Sedgwick County to 29 months in jail for criminal possession of a firearm.
