City Using Pool Water at Golf Course

The city of Wichita is putting water from its municipal swimming pools to use.

Water from Aley and McAfee pool is being used to fill the ponds at MacDonald Golf Course. City officials say it helps with the ponds’ retention and irrigates the golf course.

Wichita remains in a stage-2 drought response plan with all outdoor non-crucial watering for all water users restricted to once a week, depending on where a resident lives. Residential and commercial food gardens are exempt to the restrictions.
