Arson Suspected with Car Theft

KSAL StaffOctober 26, 2015

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office and Salina police are working together to investigate a stolen vehicle that was found on fire outside of city limits.

A 2008 Nissan Altima was reported found at the intersection of Woodward and Campbell. The vehicle was on fire, and by the time deputies showed up, the flame had already been mostly dissipated. The vehicle had been stolen, unbeknownst to the owners, from the 2400 block of Pheasant Lane in town.

The owners were notified when the vehicle was located. Captain Roger Soldan of Saline County Sheriff’s Office says that arson is suspected.

There are no suspects at this time, and the case remains open for investigation.
