A man armed with a gun is taken into custody after walking into a Wichita police station.

Police say that the man entered the Patrol South station near Pawnee and Broadway through a malfunctioning back door, put a gun to his head and asked officers to shoot him.

Officers were able to convince the man to put the gun down and surrender.

The incident is under investigation.
