Louise Esther McDaniel, 100, of Salina, passed away Friday, September 25th, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Louise was born in Weskan, Kansas, on November 7, 1925, a daughter of Ambrozine (Smith) and Paul Reed Knight.

She worked as a Nursing Assistant at St. John’s Hospital, a Medical Assistant for Dr. Hodges, Dr. Harris, and Dr. Marshall and owned McDaniel Liquor Retail.

Survivors include her son, Paul McDaniel (Brenda), of Salina, Kansas, and daughter, Ethel “Mickie” Lacy, of Salina, Kansas.

She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, James Davis, Jaclyn Lacy, Shannon Lacy, Shaun McDaniel (Tasha), Amber Tolbert (Quinn); 5 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles McDaniel Sr., siblings, Walter Knight, Pauline Fletcher, Joseph Knight; 3 step children, Charles McDaniel, Jr., Larry McDaniel, LaNita Pearl Santos; and son-in-law, Bruce Lacy.

In accordance with Louise’s wishes, she will be cremated.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 10, 2026, with Rev. Brandon Cheeks officiating at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

The family requests donations may be made to the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Salina or Meals on Wheels – Saline County, in care of the funeral home.
