A 14-year-old boy who was shot late Friday night died late Saturday night.
According to Salina Police, at 9:19 PM the victim from the shooting at a south Salina residence was pronounced deceased at Wesley Medical Center, in Wichita.
As the investigation into the incident continues the Salina Police Department will be working with the Saline County Attorney’s Office on charges.
In the interest of clarification and accuracy the Salina Police Department would like to correct earlier information provided regarding the location of the shooting incident. The incident occurred at a private single family residence located within the 100 block of Raleigh Street and was not associated with the Southwind Apartments complex in any way.

ORIGINAL: A 14-year-old boy was critically injured in a shooting late Friday night in South Salina, and a 15-year-old boy was arrested.
According to Salina Police, at 9:41 PM on Friday dispatch received a report of a shooting in the Southwind Apartments neighborhood in south Salina.
First responders located a juvenile male victim with a single gunshot wound. That victim was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center in critical condition.
The 14-year-old victim was transported to a Wichita hospital where he remains in critical condition. A 15-year-old male acquaintance of the victim has been arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center on charges of Aggravated Battery and Criminal use of a Weapon.
This incident remains under investigation with additional arrests and charges possible.
