A Salina woman has been bilked out of over $7,000 while trying to secure a $5,000 loan in an online scam.

Police say that a 36-year-old female applied for a $5,000 loan online, and was told that she was approved. To receive the loan, though she had to send various amounts of money to cover fees and expenses.

After sending $6,118 the woman contacted police. Then, after contacting police, she ended up sending another $1,000.

Total loss is $7,118.
