Snow than began to fall overnight will continue throughout the day Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will continue through the day and end tonight. The heaviest snowfall totals will be in the morning and early afternoon across the area.

The highest snow totals will fall in an axis from Hutchinson to Topeka with 7 to 9 inches, with 9+ inches expected from McPherson northeast. Southeast Kansas will see lesser amounts around 2 to 5 inches.

Travel will be difficult with reduced visibility in heavier snow.

By the afternoon blowing snow will develop increasing travel difficulties across the area.
