Salina Man Facing Theft Charge, More

KSAL Staff - October 7, 2013 12:53 pm

Saline County Jail

Police find a stolen gun and make an arrest after a theft from a Salina business.

Officers were called to Money Lenders, 301 W. Ash on Friday afternoon around 2pm after a man walked out of the store with a .22 caliber Sig Sauer handgun without paying.

A short time later officers made contact with a man who fit the suspect’s description walking near the intersection of 9th and Walnut.

Police arrested 25-year-old Shaundrick Staten of Salina. He was charged with theft and criminal possession of a firearm by a felon.

The gun was found hidden near the Sacred Heart Cathedral. It is valued at $430.

Wow that close to the city county building he could have crossed the street and opened fire. Why was he able to steal the gun to begin with? Having a business located where this could happen so close to the city county building shows how poor the zoning regs are. First that building was selling drugs now they are letting people steal guns what’s next.

With all the weirdo’s out there this is a dangerous situation. No bigger then that pawn shop is this never should have occurred. Your so very right of what could have taken place.

This story does not note the man had just been released from jail for violating a PFA from threatening to kill someone with a gun. This man needs to stay in jail.

How on can Fuchs be on this matter. If what Lisa says is true he could really have killed someone. I hope they hold whoever in that pawn shop that let him get away with stealing that gun, responsible. They would be looking for another job if I owned that business.
