Police Investigating Shooting Incidents

Salina Police are investigating a couple of weekend shooting incidents.

Police Captain mike Sweeney says that Saturday afternoon at around 1:30 first responders were sent to a home at 120 East Wilson to the report of a woman who had possibly been shot. The victim was a 71-year-old woman.

The woman was holding a blood-soaked towel on her right arm when first responders arrived. It was determined that the woman had been shot, with either a pellet or BB gun.

The woman was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center where she was treated for a small hole in her arm, and released.

Sweeney says that the woman was watering her garden, standing on a front sidewalk, when she heard two shots and then felt a pain in her arm. She saw a white van leaving the area.

A few minutes later, at 1:36 in the afternoon, officers responded to another report of possible gunfire in the area. They discovered a home at 910 South 5th Street that had been hit, recovering a silver BB from siding on the home.
