Minneapolis Man Sentenced In Child Sex Case

An Ottawa County man will spend nearly 20 years behind bars in connection with child sex crimes.

According to the Kansas Attorney General’s Office, 29-year-old Thomas G. Retzlaff was sentenced last week to nearly 20 years in prison. He was sentenced to 235 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections by Ottawa County District Judge Jerome P. Hellmer.

Retzlaff pleaded no contest in February to charges of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and rape. The crimes occurred in 2012.

The case was investigated by the Minneapolis Police Department. Assistant Attorney General Steve Karrer of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case.
