Man Allegedly Beaten, Robbed

KSAL Staff - April 13, 2016 11:20 am

Police are investigating an alleged incident in which a Salina man was beaten and robbed.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney says that 42-year-old Aman Westlund was playing video games at his home at 622 N. 12th Street at around 4:00 in the morning Tuesday. His door was open, and he heard someone outside.

According to Westlund,  he went to close the door, and encountered a black male sitting on the steps. He says that a second black male rushed him, and both then proceeded to kick and punch him. The two assailants entered the house, and stole an X Box video game system and a safe.

Westlund sought medical treatment for minor injuries at Salina Regional Health Center.

Sweeney says that officers met Westlund at the hospital.
