Salina Summer Winding Down

It’s a sure sign that summer is winding down. Salina’s Kenwood Cove Water Park is scaling back its hours, in preparation of closing for the season.

Because the majority of the lifeguards on staff are highs school and college students, this week beginning Monday will be the last full week of normal hours at the facility. Most students are headed back to school.

The water park will be open daily from 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. through Saturday, and 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. It will then be closed during the day August 10th-14th.

New this year, though closed during the day, a portion of the facility will remain open in the evenings for those who like to walk in the lazy river.

The water park will then be open regular hours for its final big weekend August 15th and 16th.

The final event of the season will be the Pooch Plunge, on Monday, August 17th. Adults are invited to bring their dogs for a dip in the pool before it is closed for the season, and cleaned.
