Homeland Security Raids Salina Home

Todd Pittenger - June 12, 2015 11:09 am

The Salina Police Department assisted the Department of Homeland Security in executing a search warrant on Thursday, seized a large amount of methamphetamine, and made two arrests.

Salina Police Captain Mike Sweeney said Friday morning that officers from the I 135 / I 70 Drug Task Force, along with the department’s SWAT team, assisted federal agents in executing a warrant at a home at 601 Morrison. A large amount of meth was seized, and two arrests were made.

Those arrested include 38-year-old Michael Stewart of Salina and 48-year-old Tina Nieneke of Hutchinson. Both could face multiple felony drug charges.

Sweeney said that the case is being worked by the Department of Homeland Security. He referred media to that agency for more information on the case. Homeland security told KSAL News that the case is part of an on-going investigation, and that they cannot comment at this time.

Funny how this has been going on in Salina for some time and the Salina PD did nothing. They rather set up road blocks and target drivers not wearing seat belts than fight real crime.
