Crash With Train On Slick Road

An icy road contributed to a fatal crash involving a car and a train early Monday morning.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 45-year-old Lanh Tranh of Garden City was driving a 1994 Lexus headed west on U.S. 50 Highway. He lost control due to the icy road, and came to a stop on railroad tracks. The car was then struck by a train.

Troopers say that Tranh was killed in the crash. No one in the train was hurt.

The crash happened at 12:50 Monday morning on U.S. 50 Highway, 3 miles east of Cimarron, in Gray County.
