A car wash employee is jailed on theft charges for pocketing customers’ cash.

Salina Police arrested 19-year-old Jose Escobedo after an investigation revealed he was keeping cash for himself and using a prepaid card from the office at Casey’s General Store, 2404 S. 9th to pay for the wash service.

Police say between June 26 and July 2, Escobedo stole $1,648 from the business using the scheme.
