Gender Restroom and Driver’s License Law in Effect

A new law is now in effect in Kansas that invalidates transgender residents’ driver’s licenses.

Senate Bill 244 also requires transgender people to use restrooms in government buildings that align with their assigned gender at birth.

Under the new law, transgender residents will get a letter from the Kansas Department of Revenue requesting the surrender of documents to the state, so those documents can be reissued with a person’s birth gender listed.
