A Salina man who broke a protection order 96 times was taken to the Saline County Jail.

Police Captain Jim Feldman tells KSAL News that 40-year-old Juan Renteria Cortez was found hiding in a house in the 1100 block of N. 11th Street on Tuesday.

Police say a 41-year-old woman contacted authorities after Cortez allegedly broke a protection order by calling, texting and emailing her last week, 96 times over a two day period.

Police say he was also wanted on an active warrant for simple battery.
