A motorcycle rider is killed in a single-vehicle crash in rural Ottawa County Sunday evening.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 57-year-old Lloyd Carriker fom Ada, Kansas, was riding a Yamaha motorcycle north on a rural road.

Troopers say that Carriker failed to correctly negotiate a curve and went off the road. The motorcycle collided with an embankment and a tree row.

Carriker was killed in the crash.

The crash happened at 7:51 Sunday evening a mile-a-half east of Minneapolis on 135th Road in Ottawa County.
