KSAL StaffApril 24, 2013

Police and the Saline County Sheriff’s Office team up to make a couple of arrests.

According to Lt. Scott Seimsen, staff at Wal-Mart, 2900 S. 9th, observed a man and a woman filling up a plastic tote box with multiple items including a DVD system, camera and perishable foods.

Store staff confronted the two just outside the doors. Police say they left the shopping cart behind and ran.

Officers passed along the description of the 2006 Ford Focus they were driving and a Saline County Sheriff’s deputy pulled the vehicle over at mile post #79 on I-135.

Police arrested 24-year-old Elizabeth Garcia and 23-year-old Pedro Hernandez, both of Wichita.

The two are now facing theft and damage to property charges.
