Amanda Tackett is an English teacher at Salina South High School. She has been teaching for 12 years, however, this is her first at South. She chose to be in education because it’s what she’s always wanted to do. Her inspirations were her dance instructors and her high school English teacher, Keith Miller. Ms. Tackett’s favorite part of school is being involved in the newspaper, yearbook, debate/forensics and band. Her favorite part of teaching is building quality relationships with her students. Teaching rarely gets boring because no day is the same as another. Ms. Tackett says that although she is new to the Salina community, she is excited to get involved not only the school, but community as well.
