Zoo Offers ‘Drop N’ Shop’ Event

Rolling Hills Zoo hopes that a new Black Friday event will be a hit with both children, and their parents. The zoo invites parents to drop off their children on the day after Thanksgiving, and then head back to town to hit the stores for a little shopping.

Zoo Director of Development and Marketing Linda Henderson tells KSAL News that this is the first time they have offered this “Drop ‘N Shop” event. “We want to give parents an opportunity to do a little holiday shopping, while at the same time knowing their children are being taken care of and having a good time.”

There will be activities for the kids at the zoo that will include dinosaur-themed educational activities, and animal encounters.

Focused around dinosaurs, kids attending Drop ‘n shop will learn all about the world of Dinosaurs, how fossils were made and even uncover a few fossils at the zoo. As the adventure continues, the kids will stumble across a dinosaur nest where they will get to help the dinosaurs hatch and even get to take their own dinosaur home.

The Drop ‘N Shop event at Rolling Hills Zoo is Friday, November 27th, from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. It’s for kids ages 3 – 12. Cost is $15 per child. Snacks are included, but children are asked to bring a sack lunch.
