A capital campaign is raising funds for renovations at the Salina Family YMCA.
“We’re not adding any square footage onto the facility but doing some renovations internally to help us be able to provide more programs and services,” said Angie Lassley, President and CEO at the Y.
Lassley joined in on the KSAL Morning News Monday with an update on the plan.
“The locker rooms are going to be totally gutted and redone,” she said.
Other areas slated for upgrades are the pool and HVAC systems.
Lassley told KSAL listeners that they are closing in on the $3.7 million dollars needed to move forward, “We need to raise just over $300,000 more to reach our goal.”
If the organization hits the goal by June 1st, they will qualify for a $500,000 grant from the Mabee Foundation in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
“We want to make sure we leverage that gift and we don’t want to lose that opportunity,” Lassley said.
