One person is hurt in a crash involving a car going the wrong way on South 9th Street in Salina late Monday afternoon.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, an Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by 63-year-old Laura Weinhold of Kanopolis was northbound in the southbound lanes of South 9th Street. A Toyota Corolla driven by 55-year-old Ruben Rivera from McPherson was making a left turn from Ave B to Southbound South 9th Street.  Rivera’s car was struck on the driver’s side.

Rivera was hurt, and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center. Weinhold was not hurt.

Troopers say that both drivers were buckled up.

The crash happened at 4:36 Monday afternoon.

To busy looking at that art out there knew this would start happening sooner or later.

I cannot believe the city commissioners have not had warning signs installed to prevent this from happening. Evidently an art oversight.

Well, it’s a double fault on the art. The SRS (Socialist Republic of Salina), put up this crap that they call art. The SRS blow money on that crap, instead of improving the traffic ways, and putting up signs. Secondly, people are so distracted by the crap(art), that they end up going the wrong way.
