Woman On Road After Hitting Deer Killed

A woman is hit and killed on Interstate 70 late Sunday evening after exiting a vehicle that hit a deer.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 35-year-old Dale Williams of Manhattan was a passenger in a car that was driving west on I-70 and hit a deer. The crash left the car disabled on the road in the driving lane.

Williams and the driver both exited the car.

Another car came upon the scene, and hit the disabled car in the road. The disabled car then hit Williams. She was transported to the hospital in Manhattan, where she died.

The driver of the second vehicle involved in the incident was hurt. 57-year-old Randy Jost of Ottawa was transported to the hospital in Manhattan.

The incident happened at around 8:45 Sunday evening south of Manhattan in the area of mile marker 314.
